Drew Patterson

Mr. Patterson joined the company in 2008. He is a graduate of Purdue University where he earned a B.S. in Acoustical Engineering. His previous employment includes sound reinforcement system design and optimization, testing and automation, and consulting at an acoustical treatment company. While at Purdue, Mr. Patterson was involved in various aspects of acoustics, including abatement of motorcycle handlebar vibrations, the design and construction of an analogue to the human ear drum used to research standing waves, and improvement to the acoustic prediction process with the aid of three-dimensional modeling.

Since joining NCE, Mr. Patterson has been involved in numerous noise and vibration surveys in the industrial, environmental, offshore, and marine fields. He has performed testing aboard various Navy vessels, including LCS-1, and LCS-2; as well as research vessels, including FSV-2, FRV-3, FRV-4, and the NOAA SWATH. He has also worked aboard multiple ferries for the states of Washington, New York, and Hawaii, in addition to various dredges, drill ships, and work boats abroad.

While not working in the field, Drew performs noise and vibration predictions using various tools, including NCE's Designer NOISE software and FEA.
