Mr. Jones joined Noise Control
Engineering, Inc. in April of 2004 after working in battlefield acoustics with Miltec Research and
Technologies of Oxford, Mississippi. It was this familiarity with acoustics, combined with
experience in field testing, which attracted NCE to Mr. Jones. Arriving at NCE at the culmination
of the company's defining FRV-40 project Mr. Jones gained experience rapidly. In two short years at
NCE this University of Mississippi graduate has been on nearly a dozen sea trials, has performed
design work, data analysis and noise predictions on a score of vessels.
Mr. Jones feels that this experience in field testing, gives credibility to his noise
predictions and design work. "It is always nice when hypotheses test out. When theoretical
predictions and test data match it really makes me smile," says Jones. He is an engineer that likes
to get his hands dirty, from crawling in the bilge of ships to freezing above the Artic Circle; Mr.
Jones has traveled far and wide to get needed data.
When Nathan is not traveling the high seas or predicting noise levels using NCE's
Designer-NOISE, he enjoys hanging out with his wife, taking his dog to play Frisbee, traveling and
exploratory dining. The go anywhere do anything style that NCE employs really feeds Nathan's
adventurous nature and wanderlust.
